Sea salt is extracted from the ocean, where it occurs naturally in seawater. The refining process of sea salt involves evaporating the water to leave behind the salt crystals. Solar evaporation involves placing seawater in shallow pools and allowing the sun and wind to evaporate the water, leaving behind the salt crystals. Once the water has been removed, the salt is washed in 4 stages and dried to remove impurities, then iodine is added to it before being packaged and sold.
The management of BMC Group are in the salt business for about 40 years and in 2018 we launched two brands of edible iodized salts named BMC & Solta.
